    Admission Graduate Admission Graduate Programs Admissions Standards Paying for College Paying for College Graduate Expenses for 2015 2016 The table below is only an estimate and includes full time tuition and textbooks Some students would also need to plan for housing and meal costs Estimated costs are available at the Financial Aid web page Please note that Master of Business Administration MBA School Psychology and Clinical Exercise Physiology graduate programs have different tuition rates You can find actual tuition rates by visiting the Student Billing web page Student Residency Per Semester Yearly Total Wisconsin Resident 4 480 8 960 Minnesota Resident 4 810 9 620 Other Non Resident 8 538 17 076 Based on Estimated Cost of Attendance calculated by the UWRF Financial Aid Office these figures do not include transportation and personal expenses Applying for Minnesota Reciprocity Through an agreement between the states Minnesota residents can benefit from reduced tution costs with Wisconsin public colleges Minnesota residents can apply for reciprocity online at and should do so as soon as you have applied for graduate school Your reciprocity benefits will be automatically renewed each year if you continue to attend UW River Falls and can claim Minnesota residency If you have not taken any classes in the past year you will need to reapply Graduate Assistantships There may be graduate assistantships available for the academic year September through May Recipients of graduate assistantships must be currently enrolled in a graduate course or admitted to a graduate program and enrolled in a course graduate or undergraduate Recipients of a full assistantship are paid a monthly stipend and are expected to work 15 16 hours per week Students seeking graduate assistantships need to complete an application and submit it to the department of their program Upon recommendations from the departments to

    UWRF scholarships they are eligible for and also allow students to search for and apply to additional UWRF scholarships directly Students admitted by April 1st for a Summer or Fall semester should apply for 2000 Falcon Transfer Scholarships 3 25 GPA required up to the May 1st deadline Sign Up for Advising Registration Sign up to attend a New Student Registration program Students starting in a Fall semester can typically sign up online beginning in March and students starting in a Spring semester can typically sign up online beginning in December When you attend the registration program you ll meet with your academic advisor review your transfer credits select courses register for classes meet other new students and learn about campus resources Once you have signed up for a program you ll also be able to review your Degree Audit in your Falcon Account and contact your academic advisor if you have questions about your transfer credits Join the Facebook Group Meet other students admitted to River Falls for your semester UW River Falls Admitted Students Fall 2016 UW River Falls Admitted Students Spring 2017 Apply for Housing Students who do not meet exemption requirements are required to live in university residence halls It is important for all accepted students to go to the Residence Hall Portal early The earlier you pay your housing deposit and complete the contract the more likely Residence Life will be able to honor your hall preferences You will need your Falcon Account to access the portal Contact Residence Life if you have questions Apply for Financial Aid FAFSA School Code 003923 For Fall transfers fill out and submit the Free Application For Federal Student Aid FAFSA beginning in January This form is available online or from the Financial Aid Office at River Falls For Spring and Summer Transfers update your current FAFSA by adding UW River Falls to your FAFSA as soon as possible We encourage you to contact the Financial Aid office after being admitted as a transfer student Apply for Tuition Reciprocity MN Residents If you are a Minnesota resident be sure to fill out the Reciprocity Form This simple form will allow you to pay a tuition rate comparable to what is charged to Wisconsin residents and is available from the Minnesota Higher Education Services Office Take Placement Tests UW System placement tests are required for all new students who have not completed college level courses in English or Math Refer to our Placement Test Information web and your Transfer Credit Evaluation to determine if you need to take the placement test Questions can be directed to the Admissions Office by phone at 715 425 3500 or e mail admissions uwrf edu For Music Majors Only Request Audition Students who are admitted to the university as Music majors must also complete an audition through the Music Department For more details please visit the Music Department s audition information webpage Send Final Transcripts Don t forget to send us your final college

    Search Directory News Event Calendar D2L eSIS Email Library Resources For Students Faculty Staff Alumni Friends Parents Family Community Search UWRF Admissions International Students Applying for Admission Applying for Admission Application Procedure for Degree Seeking F 1 Students Application Procedure for Exchange J 1 Students Application Procedure for Exchange J 1 Students All international exchange students interested in attending the University of Wisconsin River Falls are required to obtain approval from their home institution regarding the exchange After gaining consent from their institution the following documents should be submitted to International Student Admissions at the University of Wisconsin River Falls 1 Submit the UW System application for admission In the applicant statement section please indicate that you are applying as an exchange student 2 Applicants whose native language is not English identified by the U S Department of State Bureau of Public Affairs must provide evidence of English language proficiency The English proficiency requirement may be fulfilled by meeting one of the following TOEFL iBT 78 IELTS 6 0 TOEIC 730 The TOEFL IELTS or TOEIC exams must have been taken within the past two years with scores submitted directly to UWRF from the testing service Exchange students are expected to demonstrate English language proficiency This is usually documented with an acceptable TOEFL score however some institutional exchange agreements rely upon faculty recommendation s from the home institution 3 A copy of the biographical data pages of a student s passport the pages with their picture name and date of birth or copy of a government issued ID should be submitted with the application The DS 2019 will be issued using the name on their passport government ID The name will also be the one used to create their official University record 4 A copy of the student s current

    Meet Current Students Frequently Asked Questions The English Language Transition ELT Program at the University of Wisconsin River Falls offers English as a Second Language ESL classes at four levels Beginner Low Intermediate Intermediate and Advanced We offer small classes with highly qualified and experienced instructors Full time students are in classes 20 24 hours a week with additional homework and out of class projects and assignments Degree seeking students Admission into the ELT Program means that a student is academically qualified for admission but has not yet met the English proficiency requirement These students must take ESL classes for a minimum of one semester until they have met the University s language proficiency requirement Students who have a TOEFL of 70 77 or IELTS 5 5 may be eligible to dual enroll in ESL classes and other university classes Students who do not submit a TOEFL IELTS TOEIC Pearson Michigan Cambridge or EIKEN test scores with their application will be required to enter the ELT Program Students DO NOT need to submit another test after they have been accepted to the University and the ELT Program Upon arrival in River Falls students will take the ELT Program s placement test to determine their level within the ELT Program Advisors within the Program will tell the students which ESL courses they need to take and will work with them to determine other university classes they can take if they are eligible We are currently accepting applications for admission for Summer 2015 and Fall 2015 Intensive English non degree students Students who wish to study English only DO NOT need to submit a language test score Students should indicate that they want ESL classes in the personal statement on the UW System application Upon arrival in River Falls students will take
