    agents of the University with responsibilities with respect to education loans of the Financial Aid Code of Conduct 1 Ban on Revenue Sharing Arrangements The University shall not enter into any revenue sharing arrangement with any lender or other vendor working with any of its offices that are responsible for carrying out financial aid functions The University shall not accept any fee or other material benefit in exchange for recommending a lender to its students 2 Gift Ban No University officer or employee with financial aid responsibilities shall solicit or accept a gift having a monetary value of more than a de minimus amount from a lender guarantor or servicer of education loans 3 Contracting Arrangements Prohibited No University officer or employee with financial aid responsibilities shall accept from any lender or lender affiliate payment or other financial benefit as compensation for any type of consulting arrangement or other contract to provide services to a lender 4 Interaction with Borrowers The University shall not automatically assign a particular lender to any borrower unless required to do so by law and shall not refuse to certify or delay certification of any loan based on the lender or guarantee agency selected by the borrower 5 Prohibition on Offers of Funds for Private Loans The University shall not request or accept from a lender an offer of funds to be used for private education loans in exchange for the University s providing the lender with a specified number or volume of federal loans or in exchange for placement on a preferred lender list 6 Ban on Staffing Assistance The University shall not request or accept from any lender assistance with call center staffing or financial aid office staffing unless any such assistance has been legislatively defined as acceptable Lenders for example may provide

    Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships OSFA is required by federal statute to recalculate federal financial aid eligibility for students who withdraw are dismissed or take a leave of absence prior to completing 60 of a payment period or term When a student receives failing incomplete or missing grades for a term they may be considered to have unofficially withdrawn stop attending drop out without proper notification If this is verified by Vanderbilt University a calculated portion of the student s Title IV aid will be returned according to federal regulations This may result in the student owing funds to Vanderbilt University Aid awarded through the Federal Title IV Student Financial Aid Programs must be recalculated in these situations The recalculation is based on the percentage of earned aid using the following Federal Return of Title IV Funds formula Percentage of payment period or term completed the number of days completed up to the withdrawal date divided by the total days in the payment period or term Any break of five days or more is not counted as part of the days in the term This percentage is also the percentage of earned aid Funds are returned to the appropriate federal program based on the percentage of unearned aid using the following formula Aid to be returned 100 of the aid that could be disbursed minus the percentage of earned aid multiplied by the total amount of aid that could have been disbursed during the payment period or term If a student earned less aid than was disbursed the institution would be required to return a portion of the funds and the student may be required to return a portion of the funds Keep in mind that when Title IV funds are returned this may create a balance due

    economically socially and racially diverse groups and have demonstrated significant interest in issues of diversity education tolerance and social justice Chancellor s Scholars are expected to build upon these earlier commitments through continued active engagement in academic and leadership opportunities at Vanderbilt The program is funded with gifts from alumni faculty staff students corporations and friends Scholarship Benefits Chancellor s Scholars receive full tuition plus a one time stipend to be used towards a summer of study abroad or research experience following sophomore or junior year Vanderbilt will provide additional need based financial aid to those Chancellor s Scholarship recipients whose demonstrated financial need exceeds the amount of full tuition Scholarships are renewed each year as long as the recipient maintains at least a 3 0 GPA Chancellor s Scholars are supported and guided throughout by the Office of Honor Scholarships and the Office of Dean of Students Application and Selection To be considered for the Chancellor s Scholarship applicants apply via MyAppVU after submitting admission application In addition applicants must also submit the Chancellor s Scholarship Letter of Reference PDF available September 1 Chancellor s Scholars are selected on the basis of commitment to diversity leadership strength of character
