  • Event Parking Request | Parking Services | Vanderbilt University
    a surface lot located near any building Major events that require larger numbers of parking spaces will be directed to parking garages containing paid parking or to perimeter surface parking All requests for parking must be submitted on line through a Special Event Request Form Please print a copy for your records Requests are not approved until confirmed by Vanderbilt University Office of Traffic and Parking in writing Incomplete requests cannot be processed PRICING POLICY Departments can purchase scratch off hangtags in advance using a P Card or 1180 spaces in garages Wesley 25th Ave and Terrace Lots 72 D E F 75A 77 5 00 daily per space Paid spaces in garages Wesley spaces 52 170 and Terrace spaces 41 92 10 00 daily per space after 4 00 pm 5 00 per space Paid by the individual at the pay boxes in the garages Reserved space and special event hangtags 10 00 daily per space when received at least three business days before the event begins All request received less than 3 business days before the event begins do not allow adequate time for notification and require special handling and divert resources 15 00 daily per space when the request is received 2 business days before the event begins 20 00 daily per space when the request is received the business day before the event begins All requests received less than 24 business hours in advance will be directed to spaces in Wesley Place or Terrace Place garages Events which occur after 5 00 pm or on weekends which do not require Reserved Parking will incur a fee of 25 00 per event in lieu of the normal per space charge Cancelled Events Events spaces cancelled less than 3 business days before the event will incur a cancellation

    registrant disposes of a vehicle through sale or trade in the permit should be removed and returned to Traffic Parking so that the individual will no longer be responsible for tickets the vehicle might receive OWNERSHIP OF A PERMIT IS NOT TRANSFERABLE A no charge replacement permit will not be issued without the return of the old permit and proof of sale or verification that the vehicle was destroyed Unregistered vehicles are prohibited in University lots except when operated by visitors who are not affiliated with the University and parked in spaces designated for visitors or during special events for which visitor parking has been prearranged through the Office of Traffic and Parking Vehicle information must be updated when vehicles or license plates change Vehicles that are not updated will be cited Students who fail to register vehicles that they operate on campus are subject to disciplinary action by the Conduct Council There is no grace period Students who operate unregistered vehicles on campus who accumulate tickets and who are subsequently identified will be charged through student account billing Outstanding citations on unregistered vehicles that are towed will be charged to the person claiming the vehicle and identified on the tow slip Proof of identity drivers license and vehicle registration must be provided to the tow company when retrieving a vehicle The speed limit is 15 miles per hour in campus drives and parking lots 10 miles per hour in garages The speed limit for bicycles is 10 miles per hour Double parking or obstructing drives walkways doors refuse containers or other vehicles is prohibited Parking in a fire lane or within 15 feet of a fire hydrant is prohibited In lots with perpendicular or diagonal parking the front wheels must be against the curb and the parking decal clearly visible Vehicles parked in authorized lots must be parked within the parking stripes and headed into the space Parking or driving on curbs lawns landscaped areas traffic islands or walkways is prohibited Any area not lined as a space marked with a yellow curb or designated with a parking sign is a NO PARKING area Tampering with destruction or theft of parking meters parking lot signs or markings used for the implementation of parking and traffic regulations may result in disciplinary action and or criminal prosecution and the violator s being charged for replacement cost Parking privileges may also be suspended Alteration reproduction transfer or other misuse of any type of parking permit will result in an automatic referral to Employee Relations or Student Conduct Potential consequences may include disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment and or criminal prosecution Misuse of a parking permit includes displaying a parking permit on a vehicle that is not registered with Traffic and Parking Misuse of a parking permit also includes operating owning or having registered a car with an altered or fraudulent parking permit or possession of an altered or fraudulent parking permit For example making a photocopy of your

    University reserves the right to tow at the owner s expense any vehicle parked illegally or in violation of University policy Vehicles with multiple citations have an increased likelihood of being towed The University also reserves the right to tow vehicles with multiple unpaid citations even if they are not parked illegally or in violation of University policy at the time of the towing The towing of unauthorized vehicles from permit parking areas helps ensure that as many spaces as possible remain available for vehicles with appropriate permits Outstanding citations on unregistered vehicles that are towed will be charged to the person claiming the vehicle and identified on the tow slip At the discretion of Traffic Parking legally parked vehicles may be relocated to the closest appropriate parking space at no cost to the owner for safety and security reasons University events maintenance or construction Photo identification must be provided to the tow company when retrieving a vehicle All towed vehicles are taken to temporary storage in drop lot 73B located at the corner of 30th and Vanderbilt Place A towing fee must be paid before a vehicle may be picked up Towed vehicles should be picked up between 7 00 a m 6 30 p m Monday through Friday Call Traffic parking at 615 504 5723 to arrange to pick up your vehicle After hours weekend and holiday pick up can be arranged by contacting Martin s Wrecker Service at 615 256 9502 An after hour fee will be added to the tow charge See also Regulations GO Announcements Kensington Garage Permit Holder You can start parking in the garage once you pickup you access card Prior to picking up you card you must park in Lot 72E and 72D If you pull a ticket to enter the garage
