    and materials with an emphasis on a variety of cold joining techniques In this hands on class students work with sheet metal wire and beads as well as with found objects Techniques include sawing piercing adding texture metal forming cold connection fabrication wire working and photo resist acid etching A 30 lab fee covers the cost of use of tools studio chemistry and metal wire and supplies to begin the course Additional metal and wire will be available for purchase Class size is limited to 10 Intermediate Metal Smithing Formerly Jewelry Courses 3 and 4 We re turning up the heat in this jewelry class that is open to students of all levels This course will start with a review of the basics in cutting and shaping metal and then move to the use of torches to explore soldering annealing bezel setting enameling and more Each week will allow students the opportunity to learn hot techniques as well as design their own sculptural work or jewelry A 30 lab fee covers the cost of studio chemistry fuel and supplies for torches plus sheet copper and wire to begin the course Additional sheet metal and wire are available for purchase Class

    Photos Now What six weeks course What s the next step after shooting all those photos How do I organize edit and decide what photos to use This course is intended to approach each of those questions Guided by the instructor students will primarily use Adobe Lightroom to edit their photos in class organize and prioritize them and show off each student s photographic style This class also includes cellphoneography taking and editing photos in your cell phone No prerequisite is required but you must have an up to date laptop previously taken photos and a version of or subscription to Adobe Lightroom instructor will give more information on the first day of class Experimental Photography 12 weeks course This class will focus on experimental cameras and printing techniques while introducing students to the basics of taking a picture processing film and using the darkroom to make prints Students are encouraged to search their attics for vintage cameras and equipment they may already have Holgas Dianas and modern alternative cameras will also work Don t have a camera Don t fret We ll spend the first night discussing your options and there will be a limited number of cameras to loan or buy We will also explore techniques that will allow you to take an image without even using a camera like photograms cyanotype and pinhole No experience required just curiosity A 30 00 lab fee covers the cost of your first pack of darkroom paper and use of the chemistry and facilities Film and additional paper will be available for purchase in the studio Class size is limited to 10 students Introduction to Photo Art Studios Photographic Prints Objects 12 week course Photography is not always just a picture from a camera it has often been used as a
