    on several college committees during her tenure at Waldorf College including Vision Task Force Academic Progress Harrassment and Rank Tenure Committees along with being on several faculty and staff searches and other standing faculty committees Past leadership positions she held were Chair of the Education Department and Chair of the Social Sciences Division She is currently Senator from the Education Division and the Praxis site administrator She along with Professor Marcia Trygstad was instrumental in the development and implementation of the BS in Education in the fall of 2000 Dr Hill currently teaches most of the special education courses at Waldorf as well as courses in the elementary education major Her primary areas of research interest include co teaching teaching strategies student transition and teacher education Professor Hill s professional activities have included co author of A New Approach to Teacher Preparation in Views and Visions a publication of the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association of the ELCA co presenter of Character Education A Community Wide Approach at the National Character Education Partnership Conference presenter of Empowering the Learning Disabled at Iowa Developmental Educators Association s annual conference co author of the North Iowa Community Schools Special Education Service Delivery Plan and presenter at several area school and AEA Transition and Parenting Fairs She is past president of the Iowa Developmental Education Association served on the Northern Trails Area Education Agency Transition Advisory Board and on the Post Secondary Advisory Committee to the Iowa Governor s Planning Council for Developmental Disabilities She has kept current in educational programs and trends by participating in the Iowa Core Curriculum Conference Universal Design for Learning Training AEA 267 Iowa Core Curriculum Leadership Conference Students at Risk Leadership Conference and University of Kansas Learning Strategies training Dr Hill is a member of the Iowa Association

    641 585 8186 Fax 641 585 8194 Email larry hill waldorf edu Education Ed D in Educational Administration Drake University M Ed and Ed Specialist in Educational Administration Drake University B S in Social Studies Education Mankato State University Biography Dr Larry D Hill is excited to join the Waldorf College on line faculty Dr Hill and his wife attended Waldorf College a few decades ago She has now been a professor at Waldorf for over two decades Dr Larry Hill is a retired school superintendent who chose to retire early and move from administration back to the classroom He has a real passion for teaching and learning In 2005 Dr HIll was chosen to represent Iowa as Superintendent of the Year and had a chance to travel across the nation interacting with all types of schools in all types of settings His 38 years of working with public and private education has given him a solid foundation in teaching and learning Dr Hill s doctoral work at Drake University focused around the attributes which allowed school improvement teams to be successful He has served as an adjunct over the years for Waldorf College William Penn University and Morningside College

    Waldorf She has served as past chair of the Department of Business and Economics and past chair of the Social Sciences Division Professor Johnson is focused on student centered learning and creating a hands on approach to managerial and marketing issues She has been selected by her colleagues to receive the Regents Outstanding Faculty Member Award and by students to receive the Phi Theta Kappa Outstanding Teacher award She currently teaches Principles of Management Human Resource Management Organizational Theory Behavior Marketing Management and Introduction to Business She is actively involved in advising many business students throughout their academic programs at Waldorf and career development following their education at Waldorf She values the relationship and learning that occurs outside of the classroom in these types of relationships As a senior faculty member Professor Johnson has served on numerous committees including Strategic Planning Vision Task Force Blue Ribbon Panel Athletic Committee Academic Progress BA Committee Athletic Affiliation Task Force Rank Tenure Committee and the Marketing Committee along with several other standing faculty committees Serving as a faculty leader on these committees and task forces allows her to be an advocate for student centered applied learning at Waldorf She has also served on the Search Committee for the President of Waldorf College the Academic Dean the Vice President for Admissions and Marketing the Dean of Students as well as other faculty and staff searches She along with Professor John Robinson were instrumental in the design and implementation of the BA Business program that began in the fall of 1995 Other work experience at Waldorf College includes two years as an admissions counselor following her BA graduation and one year serving as Interim Vice President of Student Life in 2005 and another year serving as Interim Vice President of Admissions Financial Aid in 2008

    and specifically health and wellness education and promotion Kristi is very active in the Waldorf campus community She serves as the Wellness Department Chair and the Faculty Chair where she represents the faculty in many capacities She advises Wellness majors has served as a faculty Senator and has been the recipient of several mini and Title III grants She also has been involved in a number of the college s service initiatives search committees and other committees and task forces She also has represented Waldorf at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America ELCA Vocation Conference Locally Kristi has collaborated with colleagues to create develop and implement several community wellness programs These include a Trim Kids program and a 3K3 walk run wag event in which all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society She is the Chair of the Forest City Wellness Coalition and is a member of the Forest City YMCA Board of Directors the Forest City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Puckerbrush 5K committee Kristi considers her students to be health educators and gives them opportunities to apply what they have learned in the classroom and out in the community For example students in her classes work to develop employee wellness programs for northern Iowa businesses present their research to groups in the local community and create wellness programs for Waldorf s faculty staff and students Nationally Kristi is an active member of several professional organizations related to both wellness and higher education She has been a member of the Iowa Student Personnel Association ISPA and is a member of the Society of Health and Physical Educators SHAPE America and the National Wellness Institute NWI Furthermore she has presented at each of the aforementioned organizations national conferences and is a member of the NWI Council
