    research assistance from one of the librarians please schedule an assistance session by emailing a request to library waldorf edu Please provide information about the assignment and topic when making an appointment Reference Desk Hours during library open hours Monday Friday 8 a m 5 p m Sunday 4 9 p m For assistance outside of regularly scheduled reference desk hours please call 641 585 8110 email library waldorf edu or stop by the library circulation desk A library staff member will be available to assist you during regular library open hours Librarians provide instruction for curriculum support including Collaborative Embedded Instruction Program CEP This program combines library and writing center instruction to support students in courses containing a research paper component The CEP program includes 3 5 short instruction sessions led by a librarian or writing center expert throughout the semester Instruction is paced to correlate with student progress on their research papers This program is limited to 5 courses per semester One shot information literacy sessions One shot sessions are provided in courses upon request by faculty Topics commonly covered are catalog or database searching instruction on subject specific databases evaluating websites academic integrity and citation information Faculty

  • Classroom Equipment
    are using Most classrooms are equipped with an overhead and many with TV VCR DVD carts Equipment available for check out non lcd overhead projectors tv vcr dvd carts tape cd players slide projectors projector screens wireless presenters laser pointers digital cameras camcorders Aver Media document camera I Clicker set If your classroom does not have the required equipment you will need to First check in and around the area of your classroom Often media equipment is stored in a department office area or even in a nearby hallway or stairwell If you cannot find the needed equipment contact the library to make a reservation In order to accommodate your request please provide a minimum of twenty four hours notice Include your name class date and time needed Reserved equipment will be available for you to pick up at the circulation desk Exception TV carts will be delivered to the specified classroom In the case of equipment malfunction contact the library front desk 8110 and a staff member will try to provide immediate assistance Please return all equipment to the circulation desk so that it can be checked in and available for others to use For LCD projection unit questions

  • Reserves
    reserve for a specific course Small amounts of photocopied items e g a single copy of a journal article may also be put on reserve Photocopies used for multiple semesters may require the purchase of the original published material or copyright licensing Books on loan from other libraries consumables e g workbooks and copies of numerous chapters and articles which would essentially amount to a coursepack in aggregation cannot be placed on reserve All materials will be processed for check out Personal items will have a security strip placed inside and a removable barcode will be attached All items on reserve will be kept behind the circulation desk and arranged by the instructor s last name Materials are generally checked out for a four hour period in the library Exceptions can be made at the instructor s request Students should be instructed to ask for the materials at the circulation desk by title author and the instructor s name Unless otherwise informed items on reserve will be removed at the end of the semester To make a course reserve request please fill out this form or stop by the circulation desk to fill out a form and to drop off the material Fair Use Section 107 Title 17 U S Code The following excerpt is from the U S Copyright Office fair use factsheet Section 107 contains a list of the various purposes for which the reproduction of a particular work may be considered fair such as criticism comment news reporting teaching scholarship and research Section 107 also sets out four factors to be considered in determining whether or not a particular use is fair 1 The purpose and character of the use including whether such use is of commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes 2 The nature
