    does not pay once the end of the year billing is sent Damage Deposits are refundable within a few weeks after the time you check out of the residence hall If damages or other charges are incurred by the student or unknown persons in the student s room or on their floor residence hall this amount will be taken from the Damage Deposit The College has a policy of charging a pro rated amount to all residents for unnecessary damages that may occur on floors or in common areas of the residence halls made by unidentified persons The residence halls are operated on a self sustaining basis with no provision in the budget for the cost of materials and labor to repair undue damage However no charges are levied against students for the normal or expected wear and tear on facilities furnishings or equipment Whenever possible Waldorf prefers to charge unnecessary damage costs directly to the student s responsible Thus we encourage all students to take an active role in discouraging careless or destructive behavior in their rooms on their floors and in their residence halls Meal Plans RESIDENT MEAL PLANS Meals Week Declining Balance 19 week 125 12 week 225 125 block meals 300 All residential students are required to be on one of two meal plans offered by the College All incoming first year students are automatically placed on the 19 meal plan for their first semester 19 meals per week with 125 flex money After the first semester first year students may choose to stay on this plan or switch to the 12 meal plan 12 meals per week with 225 flex money or the meal block plan 125 meal block with 300 flex money All other students may choose either option that best serves their needs Meals and flex dollars may be used at all dining venues on campus including the Dining Hall Warrior Crossing and Gatsby s If a student has special dietary concerns that cannot be met by the options offered across campus an appeal must be made to the Dean of Students for permission to have his her meal plan waived The student will need to complete the special needs accommodation form as a part of this process COMMUTER MEAL PLANS Timberland only Meals Semester Cost 30 meals 100 flex 279 50 meals 75 flex 370 80 meals 75 flex 547 Brian Keely Director of Dining Services can answer any questions you may have You can contact him at 641 585 8168 or keelyb waldorf edu Room Features and Furniture ITEMS FURNISHED BY THE COLLEGE For all the traditional residence halls on campus the College provides a bed dresser closet drapes and a desk and chair set In addition card operated washers and dryers are located in every residence hall and a limited number of telephones that can be checked out on a first come first served basis The Waldorf Bookstore carries various phone cards that students can purchase and use for long
