    financial assistance either based on financial need academic achievement or special ability Contact us at 800 292 1903 or 641 585 8120 or finaid waldorf edu The following information is provided to acquaint you with some general financial terms and policies Types of Financial Aid Grant This is money given to the student for their educational costs that does not have to be repaid Grants are generally based on financial need Another form of grant financial aid based on the merit and accomplishments of the student are more often known as scholarships or awards Loan This is money loaned to the student that must be repaid with interest over a period of time Most loans allow a student to complete their education before beginning repayment There are some loans available to parents for their student s educational costs Self Help This is money a student can earn to use for their education costs Work study where a student obtains a job on campus and is paid an hourly wage is an example of self help financial aid Main Sources of Financial Aid Federal Federal financial aid also known as Federal Title IV aid includes Pell Grants Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants SEOG Direct Loans and Federal Work Study All of these are available at Waldorf Students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid FAFSA to be eligible for federal aid Eligibility for federal aid programs is determined by the federal government and based on each student s FAFSA Reminder Iowa students must file their FAFSA by July 1 2014 in order to be eligible for the Iowa Tuition Grant State The State of Iowa offers a state grant which can be applied for by all residents of Iowa The grant is based on need Waldorf students who reside in

    Web All faculty staff and students are issued Waldorf College email accounts Waldorf has adopted email communication as the official communication tool for campus information All students are required to use their Waldorf assigned email account for communication with faculty students and administrative offices Important announcements regarding class schedules and cancellation financial aid registration information business office deadlines and other important information will be sent to all students via email It is vital for students to check their Waldorf email accounts on a regular basis All Waldorf faculty staff and student email addresses are accessible through the Global Address List in their Outlook Address book Personal Address book options can be added for recording email addresses of family and friends Your Waldorf College email account will not last forever Accounts for graduates will continue for six months after graduation Those students transferring from Waldorf have one week from their date of transfer Students dismissed from Waldorf will have their accounts deleted immediately To check Waldorf email accounts from off campus Waldorf faculty staff and students can easily access their email accounts from computers off campus through Outlook Web Access Access may also be obtained by copying and pasting the following link on the address line in your internet browser http mail waldorf edu Note Requires Internet Explorer 5 0 or higher When prompted with a log on box enter the following information User Name Example userid waldorf edu Password Enter the password Troubleshooting tips If you experience problems accessing your email off campus check the Security settings in Internet Explorer and be sure they are set to Medium Low Some Internet Service Providers AOL being one of them will not work with our WebMail Campus Web Campus Web allows faculty and students online access to class schedules grades registration and

  • Computer Use Policy
    any activity associated with their user id Non warranty damage and theft will be billed to the student for the cost of repair replacement Users are expected to secure insurance coverage for user caused repairs theft Users will request authorization by Information Technologies professional staff for all software added to their hard drive Users will be charged an hourly rate for repairs of unauthorized system software modifications Legal Issues Engaging in illegal or criminal activities using Waldorf computing facilities is not permitted It is illegal to install and or operate unlicensed software on campus owned computers Copying or distributing software files which violates copyright laws license agreements and intellectual property is illegal This is outlined in the Copyright Law of the United States of America revised March 1 1989 in Title 17 of the United States Code Section 117 and according to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act DMCA http www loc gov copyright title17 Downloading and sharing of copyrighted MP3 s movies etc is prohibited This includes the laws of libel privacy copyright trademark obscenity and child pornography Knowingly distributing or actively developing a computer virus worm or Trojan horse is prohibited Installation and or use of software to circumvent college Computer Use Policy is considered a violation of regulations Example tunneling software Ethical Issues Users may utilize only the user id assigned to them It is expected that users will access only the software that has been preinstalled by Institutional Technologies Department personnel Users are expected to respect the security and integrity of other users files and e mail Users are expected not to attempt to break into or crack the security of computer systems for which they lack authorized access Users are expected not to develop or distribute software that disrupts computer services Efficient Use of Resources Use of Waldorf s network resources for recreational game playing is not permitted Use of computing resources to post or receive offensive or obscene material is not permitted Use of computing resources for profit activities is not permitted System software and hardware should be modified only by authorized personnel Users are expected to avoid using excessive amounts of system resources Email sent to all students must meet at least one of the following purposes Promotion of college sponsored activities Sales promotions approved by the Dean of Students Communications from college offices and organizations It is suggested that lost and found items for sale and ride requests be submitted for daily campus announcements Originating or forwarding chain letters or sending unapproved campus wide emails is not permitted Unauthorized use of personal equipment is not permitted Only college issued equipment is authorized to connect to the campus network Violation of Regulations Computer resource abuse by employees of the college will be handled through appropriate administrative channels Computer resource abuse by students will result in charges filed and processed according to Student Services procedures Network ports and or user accounts may be disabled immediately by the Institutional Technologies Department pending due process by Student
