    it has positively surprised me and this group as done a good job of being unselfish and doing what is right for the team and not themselves Coach Anderson has impressive background before coming to Waldorf A native of Iowa and a college football career Coach Anderson made his way to Germany after finishing his degree He coached in Germany for more than 15 years While in Germany the sport of football was just beginning for the country and did not have a massive following of fans By the time Coach Anderson left more than 34 000 fans were coming to watch these football games A valiant accomplishment to be able to build up a sport in another country Not only did the sport of football gain traction Coach Anderson s teams did too In those 15 years the teams he coached won eight national championships and was a six time national coach of the year With these accomplishments Coach Anderson was inducted into the German Football League Hall of Fame The powerfulness of Coach Anderson is that he believes in building status in the community establishing a culture first and then focusing on the victories He concentrates on small victories that help change the culture of the football program that in turn help the whole culture on campus He praises the coaching staff with helping facilitate these small victories and changes Even with his impressive career and background his football philosophy is to have fun He believes in being spirited and making football enjoyable and not too routine but also holding the players accountable Grades are emphasized and he says you earn the right to be an athlete Coach Anderson loves the Waldorf culture A good community is what brought him and his family to the area He describes
