    of the National Christian Multicultural Student Leaders Conference Inc on the Diversity Task Force of the Association of Christians in Student Development and is a recipient of the latter s Jane Higa Award for Racial Harmony Rodney and his wife Hasana 86 have two children and share a passion for Christ music and encouraging others to rejoice in the Lord Eva Ortiz Assistant Director Eva is committed to utilizing her God given gifts to encourage empower and challenge students to excel throughout their Wheaton experience by celebrating their uniqueness and maximizing their individual opportunities for communal growth Tanya Egler Gospel Choir Director Tanya Egler has enjoyed the opportunity to serve as the Director of the Wheaton College Gospel Choir for 20 years She is a native of Cleveland Ohio where she grew up in a singing family that fostered her love for God and music Tanya earned a B S in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University She and her husband Calvin 95 are co founders of Passion Ministries They are blessed to have three young adult children who love and serve God Hee Jung Kim Office Coordinator Hee Jung joined the Office of Multicultural Development in December 2013 as the Office Coordinator As a former international student herself she understands the important role the Office of Multicultural Development may have in helping minority students become acclimated to Wheaton College She has enjoyed not only connecting with students and staff members but also helping them to reach their visions and goals In her free time she loves nature walking gardening doing DIY projects traveling with her family and cooking Korean foods Rebecca Gist Graduate Resident Assistant Rebecca is honored to join the OMD as the Graduate Resident Assistant Originally from California she is excited to embrace life and weather

    others as a reflection of Christ Menu Shalom Community Organizations Multicultural Events Calendar History OMD Staff A Letter from the Director Welcome to the Office of Multicultural Development We strive to be a resource for campus racial and ethnic diversity To provide resources counsel wisdom and a safe place to address the challenges of Christ centered diversity Our goal is to point students in directions to move forward in recognizing our unity in the midst of our diversity Our logo represents this unique perspective The world is surrounded by the love of Christ represented by the cross Look carefully and you will see a cross Additionally here in the United States we are impacted and influenced by the convergence of our global community which has come to this country over generations As a nation we are a unique amalgamation of many different people coming into one people though there have been challenges in getting us there The cross reminds us of the battle for our souls the battle for our unity The evil one desires separation and disconnect unity dictates that through our differences we complement each other to represent Christ Whole and effective women and men of God are subject to the cross finding our unity in our diversity We are a resource for students looking into the question of Christ centered diversity regardless of their background We are convinced that Christ has given each of us the gift of a cultural heritage and that as we grow in our understanding of ourselves and others we are able to see the cultural gifts of others as a reflection of Christ We pray that this site gives you a glimpse into the mission and heartbeat of OMD Rodney Sisco 84 Director Office of Multicultural Development Diversity At Wheaton Multicultural Development
