    Jon Laansma Kathryn Long Mark Lewis Matthew Lundin Min Dong Paul Lee Raymond Lewis Roger Lundin Stephen Lovett Timothy Larsen Guest Lecturer Voice On Faculty since 2012 Phone 630 752 5098 Email christopher lorimer wheaton edu Education M M vocal performance Northwestern University 1983 B M vocal performance Northwestern University 1982 About Christopher Lorimer Christopher Lorimer tenor has been teaching voice and singing professionally in the Chicago area for more than thirty years A graduate of Northwestern University where he received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Vocal Performance he currently serves on the voice faculty at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music and Concordia University He taught private voice at the DePaul University School of Music for 12 years as well as classes in German Diction and Vocal Pedagogy He was on the voice faculty of the Northwestern University High School Music Institute for 15 years where in addition to teaching private voice he taught diction classes led master classes and conducted chamber music ensembles He has also served on the voice faculty at the University of Illinois Chicago and the College of DuPage where he also taught class voice and performance classes In demand as a technician and coach he has led master classes and voice clinics throughout Chicago His students have gone on to top level undergraduate and graduate music programs throughout the United States are featured performers in many music festivals and opera programs here and in Europe and are also music directors educators and professional choristers He is the Director of Music Ministries at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ of Naperville He served on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing for six years Christopher is also a Certified Music Practitioner As a CMP he provides live music at the bedside for people dealing with a variety of medical conditions from acute to non acute care as well as people in hospice and those suffering from dementia and Alzheimer s disease In addition to his teaching schedule Christopher maintains an active singing career A specialist in oratorio and concert works Christopher has soloed with Music of the Baroque Apollo Chorus North Shore Choral Society Evanston Bach Week Festival Rockford Bach Chamber Choir Chicago Chamber Orchestra and Chicago Youth Symphony the Antioch Chamber Ensemble and with Ars Antiqua Ars Viva Chicago Camerata and the Grant Park Music Festival Christopher has also been a soloist with the Bach Aria Group in Stony Brook New York His opera credits include lead tenor roles in Rigoletto The Rake s Progress Amahl and the Night Visitors Die Fledermaus Abduction from the Seraglio Bastienne and Bastien The Magic Flute and The Crucible Christopher attended the AIMS program in Graz Austria where he was a finalist in the International Meistersinger Competition He also placed first in the Chicago Union League Civic and Arts Foundation Competition and has received awards from the Mozart Society of Chicago and Friends of
