    in the development of ten such students and to identify train and involve them in leading undergraduate vocational discernment groups Launch ten vocational discernment groups for undergraduate students to support and prepare them as they move toward employment in a shifting and uncertain economy The institute will create curriculum and train group leaders with the goal of launching these groups in Winter 2015 with an optimum number of 8 12 undergraduates in each group Host a multi faceted January conference on faith and vocation on campus at Wheaton in connection with the annual meeting of the Theology of Work Project Selected faculty fellows will be given the chance to participate in this conference through presentation of relevant projects This conference will serve as the public debut for the institute Establish a small grants program to support independent research on vocation in the many disciplines taught at Wheaton The institute will offer a competitive opportunity for Wheaton faculty to receive grants with a total of 10 000 awarded in the first year primarily aimed at the creation and use of new learning units on faith vocation and economics within existing courses across the curriculum Create a faith and vocation resource library for the use of Wheaton community members working on faith and vocation issues including students faculty and staff Some resources will be offered for general use and others for dedicated use by faculty fellows small grants recipients graduate student fellows and undergraduates in vocational discernment groups Develop and offer traveling workshops for churches designed to prepare pastors and lay leaders to lead their churches in Christian vocational reflection and practice We plan to design curriculum recruit teachers from among Wheaton faculty and offer four workshops in key churches during the spring and summer of 2015 Inquiries about the institute and

    that the workplace plays in God s care for the world Opus The Art of Work seeks to stimulate and support good work and thought on these issues across the curriculum Faculty Fellowship Fellows will be expected to Design and implement three thematically relevant learning units see below for details during the academic year Participate in two approved conferences during the academic year fully funded by the institute Participate actively in a faith and work reading group meeting periodically throughout the academic year Institute Fellows will receive A fully funded spring course release Fully funded travel and expenses to two eligible conferences during the 2014 2015 academic year A faith and work resource library A research budget for travel and other relevant expenses Small Grants There are up to 1000 grants available for work in vocational issues related to a field or application of theology of work within a field These small grants are primarily for but not restricted to the development of topical learning units see below for details for use in courses across the curriculum The institute invites proposals from across the curriculum that make a connection between themes of vocation work or economics on the one hand and topics or issues from your field on the other hand from within a biblical theological framework that can generate measurable student outcomes All full time Wheaton faculty are eligible to apply Grantees will submit a written report on the outcomes of the project that should include elements such as student response outcomes measurements challenges encountered action items for future progress etc Apply for a small grant Learning Units Learning units typically involve one class session s worth of lecture discussion plus one light duty assignment of some sort and can include such elements as guest lecturers internship or experiential
