    Performing Arts Greenleaf Gallery Broadoaks School School Song Alma Mater You are here Home About Board of Trustees Board of Trustees On 10 May 2013 By admin 0 Comments Membership on the Board of Trustees at Whittier College is an honor a service and a responsibility It is the trustees who in consultation with others determine reaffirm or change the College s purposes and mission They approve all major institutional policies including decisions concerning the addition or discontinuation of major academic programs and major services consistent with Whittier s mission and financial capacity The duties of the Board includes appointing supporting and assessing the president and other officers of the College as well as authorizing the granting of tenure to faculty and approving earned and honorary degrees Additionally trustees must lead planning initiatives assess outcomes and monitor progress against goals They ensure that the College has adequate resources to fulfill its mission by approving and monitoring the annual budget protecting financial and capital assets and prudently investing restricted and unrestricted funds Elected for up to three three year terms before a required hiatus year Board members set an excellent collective example in personal philanthropy They lead special fundraising initiatives for capital and endowment projects and are typically the College s top donors to the Whittier Fund with their generous annual support for scholarships Guaranteeing that Whittier serves as a good citizen in its relationships with other social educational and business enterprises through appropriate collaborations and partnerships trustees are key ambassadors for the College in the United States and abroad Currently the Whittier College Board of Trustees consists of 29 members 19 of whom are Whittier alumni from the classes of 1957 through 2000 In addition eleven former trustees have been elected as Emeriti Trustees These individuals remain committed through their

    lots by 7 00 am Monday through Friday I Motorcycles mopeds and scooters are not to be parked in car stalls and cars are not to be parked in motorcycle moped and scooter areas K All vehicles driven on Whittier College property must comply with California State Vehicle Code equipment regulations L Vehicles which are inoperative for longer than 15 days are considered abandoned and are subject to removal at the owner s expense VII Driving While Intoxicated Driving while intoxicated on private property is a crime in the State of California Calif Vehicle Code 23152 a b states It is unlawful for any person who is under the influence of an alcoholic beverage or any drug or under the combined of an alcoholic beverage and any drug It is unlawful for any person who has 0 08 or more by weight of alcohol in his her blood to drive a vehicle California Vehicle Code 23136 a states It is unlawful for a person under the age of 21 years who has a blood alcohol concentration of 0 01 or greater to drive a vehicle VIII Parking Areas and Zones A The parking lot designations and assignments are as follows Athletics Center Lot Faculty Students Amphitheater Lot Unavailable SLC Project Broadoaks Lot N Music Staff Students Campus Inn Lot Commuters Canyon Lot Staff Chapel lot S Music Faculty Students College Hall Lot Faculty Students Courthouse Structure Staff Founders Hill Rd Lot Faculty Students Harris Turner Lot Students Haverhill Lot Students Visitors Maintenance Lot Staff Mendenhall Lot Faculty Visitors Methodist Church Commuters Shannon Center Lot Commuters Platner Lot Faculty Students Redwood Lot Students Science Lot Unavailable SLC Project Stadium Lot Students Wanberg Hall lot Students Parking Courtesy Notices Throughout the duration of the Science and Learning Center SLC Project the Department of Campus Safety will be issuing Parking Courtesy Notices to College registered vehicles parked in the surrounding public streets Officers will follow up with any student or employee who receives more than three notices these vehicle owners will be subject to further action B Certain designated parking stalls are reserved for faculty service vehicles faculty masters vendors etc and only those individuals vehicles shall park in these stalls All parking lots that there is no student parking restricted lots are enforced Monday through Friday 7 00 am to 5 00 pm C Parking is prohibited in loading docks and trash can areas D Blue Zones Reserved for disabled parking at ALL times 24 hours a day 7 days a week These may only be occupied by a vehicle displaying a College disabled permit special disabled license plate and or placard as issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles E Green Zones Reserved for those as specified on space and or signage If there are no signs or markings the space is still considered reserved and not for general parking All reserved spaces are enforced 24 hours a day 7 days a week except faculty spaces and Platner lot admission visitor
