    or summer term The Projected Terms Offered section allows you to identify the specific terms that a course will be offered however if the class schedule has already been built for a specific term you will not be able to make changes to that term on PRCO After the end of each semester you will receive an email notification that it is time to review and update the projected course offerings for your department Building the Master Schedule Departments are now able to build the schedule online using the Master Schedule File Start MSFS and Master Schedule File Build MSFB screens available only through WIUP on the Web Courses are generated based on the information identified on PRCO and MSFS for the given term Macomb campus WIU Quad Cities off campus CODEC online and Independent Study course information should be submitted together on the MSFB screen View OVERVIEW of procedures for building the class schedule MS Word View Master Schedule File Start MSFS screen instructions MS Word View Master Schedule File Build MSFB screen instructions MS Word View instructions for Summer School Scheduling MS Word Classroom Scheduling Classroom assignment reports are distributed to departments with the Master Schedule File Build screen instructions General Usage Academic Classrooms General usage academic classrooms are scheduled through the Office of the Registrar Your courses will be given first priority to use your assigned rooms when preparing the class schedule booklet After the class schedule has been finalized our office will assign other classes activities into these room as needed Therefore you must contact the Office of the Registrar to check on availability BEFORE using a room In addition if you have other academic activities that need to be scheduled into these classrooms then EACH semester you must complete an Academic Classroom Request Form MS Word to ensure your reservation All Other Types of Classrooms Departments are responsible for contacting the appropriate scheduling office and or for the scheduling of their own reserved classroom facilities Changes to the Official Class Schedule Once the class schedule has been finalized authorized users may submit changes to Macomb campus online and Independent Study courses through the administrative information system WIUP by using the following Master Schedule File screens MSFM Master Schedule File Maintenance MS Word Allows user to immediately update Action Status closed canceled hold Maximum Enrollment and Instructor WIU ID for a course MSFC Master Schedule File Change MS Word Allows user to submit a request to change various course information such as days times location special permission footnotes etc Requests are submitted to the Registration staff the next working day for processing MSFA Master Schedule File Add MS Word Allows user to submit a request to add a new course section Requests are submitted to the Registration staff the next working day for processing Changes to WIU Quad Cities and all CODEC courses including Macomb CODEC must be submitted to Lois Retherford WIU Quad Cities Back to Top STUDENTS Catalog Undergraduate Catalog Graduate Diplomas GradTrac Illinois

    enter early warning grades and proceed with the steps outlined above again Continue until you have submitted early warning grades for all of the courses listed SPECIAL NOTES If an early warning grade cannot be determined the grade of I may be entered If everyone in the course is doing C or better work please click the Submit button This confirms that you reviewed the course roster Your entire class roster will be listed but you will not be able to enter early warning grades for any students not in the target population i e graduate students and students auditing the course 3 Print Early Warning Grade rosters Once you have submitted early warning grades you may print grade rosters from the list of courses by clicking the checkbox next to the course s for which you want to print rosters You may choose to print all of your rosters by clicking the Select All button at the bottom of the screen Once you have selected the courses for which you want to print grade rosters click the Print Grade Roster button This will print the report on your network printer identified in parentheses next to the button 4 Exit WIUP Exit WIUP when you are finished entering grades by clicking on the SignOff link in the upper right corner Students with early warning grades of C D D D F FN FW I or U will receive a report to their WIU email account on the evening of the submission deadline for early warning grades Faculty should anticipate special requests for assistance from these students Frequently Asked Questions Question When I tried to log into WIUP I received the error message Your Previous Sign On did not succeed What should I do Answer First make sure you are using the same User id and Password that you use to access Monthly Time Reporting Example User id abc def Password abcdef12 Do NOT enter you ECom Username and Password which is used to access Zimbra If you are using the correct User id and Password and are still unable to log on then you should contact the uTech Helpdesk at 298 2704 Question Why can t I update the early warning grades for all of the students in my class Answer The targeted population currently includes all undergraduate students including extension students enrolled in regularly scheduled and online courses at the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses Although graduate students may be enrolled in undergraduate courses and listed on the early warning grades screen they are not part of the targeted population Please note that class rosters for all courses are available on WIUP type RSTR in the display field and on the Registrar s website at http www wiu edu registrar rosters php Question Why aren t all of my courses listed on the Early Warning Grade Reporting screen Answer The early warning population does not include irregularly scheduled or graduate courses Student teaching internships and study abroad programs are

    to document expectations for successful completion of remaining course requirements The I must be replaced with a grade by the end of the ninth week of the next semester in which the student is enrolled If the student is not enrolled during the next two semesters the I must be replaced with a permanent grade no later than one calendar year subsequent to the incurrence If the I is not replaced by these deadlines it will automatically become an F For S U graded courses the I will become a U The permanent grade which replaces the I will be used to determine the student s academic standing and progress toward the degree Any changes in the student s status resulting from the assignment of the permanent grade become effective at the time of the change from I to the permanent grade Pass Fail System The Pass Fail grading option is open to all undergraduate students in good academic standing Undergraduate courses open to the Pass Fail option carry the following limitations Only courses that will be used as general electives may be taken Pass Fail No General Education major or minor requirements can be fulfilled with a P F course Students wishing to register for a course on a Pass Fail basis must indicate this option when registering A student may change from Pass Fail to regular grading or from regular grading to Pass Fail up until the end of the scheduled program change period Students withdrawing from a course taken on a Pass Fail basis follow the usual withdrawal procedures Final letter grades of D or above are recorded as pass P by the Registrar and the student receives the credit hours for the course However this will not affect the student s grade point average A P becomes the official designation for the course and may not be changed Students wishing to transfer to another college or university are cautioned to determine the transfer school s policies regarding the transferability of P grades An F in a course taken for Pass Fail is recorded as such and affects the grade point average accordingly A student may earn a maximum of 12 semester hours of credit in Pass Fail to be applied toward general electives within the graduation requirement Instructors will not be informed as to which students have elected Pass Fail in their courses but will evaluate all students by the regular University grading system Permanent Grades There are 14 permanent grades which indicate the quality of a student s work in a course Eleven of these indicate successful completion of the course A highest A B B B C C C D D and D lowest The remaining three permanent grades F FN and FW indicate failure to complete the course successfully F indicates failure to meet the academic requirements of the course FN indicates failure because the student never attended accessed participated and FW indicates failure because the student stopped attending class or completing coursework
